Apple no longer has a Firefox app for the iPhone, but there is a Google Chrome browser app that you can use instead that also works with SharePoint 2013 hosting.  Both are supported by Microsoft SharePoint 2013 and should work with both our free sharepoint 2013 hosting plan and our paid plans.  If you have problems, just be sure that you are typing in SPH\ before your username and correctly entering your password.  Here’s what mobile SharePoint 2013 looks like:

Most Android Phone’s default browsers block the SharePoint 2013 Authentication popup window. This makes it impossible to login and edit your site on the go. If you have a SharePoint site and plugin your URL into the Android browser you will likely get a 401 Unauthorized error. Unfortunately, the default browser squashes the login prompt popup preventing anyone from logging into their SharePoint site. I recently spent a few minutes setting up some the Android phones in our office (Samsung Galaxy S, HTC One, and HTC DNA) to access our SharePoint 2013 Foundation hosting site.

The first step is to simply grab the Firefox Browser from the Android Marketplace (Google’s chrome browser app also works but is not officially fully supported by Microsoft). Firefox is one of the browser officially supported by Microsoft for SharePoint 2013 and will allow you to login to your SharePoint Hoster site and login. Firefox supports SharePoint’s login popup and allows you to login to your site! By using the Firefox Android app as your browser, you can visit your SharePoint Hoster URL and login and edit your site.

Here is a simple way to figure that out:

Type http://yoursitename/_vti_pvt/service.cnf (note the underscores before and after vti) into your favorite browser.

This command will return something that looks like this:

vti_encoding:SR|utf8-nl
vti_extenderversion:SR|15.0.0.4420

The last 4 digits of the extenderversion are your build number. The first 2 digits indicate the version (15 for 2013 and 14 for 2010)

Once you’re in storage metrics, you can easily see the total size of files and folders, the date things were last modified and the % of the site parent and total quota that each file/folder is currently taking up.  Right now, I don’t really have many large files uploaded to SharePoint, but watch as I upload a very large zip file to the Documents folder:

As you can see, the Documents folder has jumped up in my storage list and is using a lot more of my Quota now that I have uploaded a 90mb zip to the folder.
